In the last month more than 100 local writers have signed up with the new Whidbey Writers Network (WWN). The group’s mission is to gather and disseminate information on resources that might be useful for writers living on Whidbey.
WWN’s next goal is the development of an automated, state-of-the-art website, to be funded by donation. All Whidbey writers will have access to this site and all are encouraged to make a donation (no amount is too small!) at https://www .gofundme.com/writersnetwork or by sending a check to Tanja Diamond/WNN, 7359 Maxwelton Rd., Clinton, WA 98236.
Currently, the WWN Meetup group at http://www.meetup.com/Writers-on-Whidbey-Island/ is the best source for the list of opportunities for local writers. Current activities include how to sell your books at farmer’s markets and how to join writers groups. Whidbey Authors Facebook page is also a good resource for announcements and invitations.
Anyone interested in adding their name to the email notification list should contact donnahood@whidbey.com or call 360-341-1860.
